The Funnicks #43

Knife Laws
It seems that every year, if not every month each state, if not the entire country is changing its laws regarding one thing or another. I can't begin to wonder what the laws will be when my grandkids are in college.

Ignorance
I want to give thanks again to my son, Aaron, for coming up with the idea for this one. I would also like to give credit to Madelina for her story which served as reference for this particular strip.

I welcome you all to participate in sending me ideas and stories. It's more fun that way. Thanks to all for reading The Funnicks.

Resolutions
Last year when I started The Funnicks, the characters were really adamant on keeping a new year's resolution, but like many people out there who start one, or say they will make changes, I eventually grew tired of it. LOL. Here's homage to that and to all those people (just like me) who never really live up to their New Year's resolutions. Someone has to root for the underdog! Whoop whoop!

By the way, thanks to everyone who has been sending ideas. They really make this a lot more fun. Please forward to all your friends and family and just about everyone you know. :)

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has been fighting to keep his leadership post this week after his impolitic remarks about President Obama and race. Back in Nevada, that controversy is among the least of his worries.

Reports of Americans and their loved ones caught in the Haitian earthquake bring the disaster into focus, reminding us that natural disasters touch all the peoples of the world. Let's reach out and make this a year to reach out to those who need our help.

One of the most famous resolutions is the goal to either lose weight or change your diet. Those who have the will to do so would benefit very much from finding a vice in which they will maintain their motivations.
The others with less stamina and mental prowess would most likely benefit from just not investing their energy in promoting to their friends and family that they want to lose weight. Stay away from broadcasting your goals on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc. If you keep it to yourself, no one will ever know you've failed at the end of the year. Always remember that you can make any thing you already do a goal. This would make you look good. Continue with your struggles or just accept your fate like Mr. Butt.

Be realistic

The surest way to fall short of your goal is to make your goal unattainable. Be realistic. If you know you are not capable of doing something or you've never done it before, by all means, give up...especially if it is a big change of character. If everyone around you knows that you are a loser and you are destined to be one, then you will most likely fail in your goals this year.
